Appraisers Out Computer Values In – Big Banking


Big banks are working hard to take appraisers out of the mortgage lending process. Now the HARP program allows loans to be approved without a traditional appraisal, only an AVM. Banks are using all their influence to convince government officials (HUD), and consumers, that automated valuation products are as accurate and dependable as traditional appraisals. The Golden Rule is alive and well in mortgage lending. Buyer’s beware.
