Can your own bankruptcy attorney sue you for bogus fees?

I paid $2000 plus filing fees for a chapter 7 and now the attorney is stating we still owe more money -this only came about after I expressed my disappointment with the lack of communication and misinformation.

    Say you’ll refer him to the bar association. These things are tricky– while normally your attorney cannot be adverse to your interests, an exception is made when it comes to fees. In your representation agreement there should be something about resolving these types of disputes, like arbitration. You may want to look into going that route. A complaint to the bar, or the mere threat of a complaint, might be enough to make him think twice. That is, if you don’t actually owe the money.
