Green Friday Club – Feb 2011

Business lunch club hears of alternative approach The February Green Friday Lunch proved to be an entertaining and thought-provoking affair as solicitor Martyn Hudson outlined his business philosophy to a room packed full of guests. The Green Friday Lunch, sponsored by insolvency practitioners and business consultants Middleton Partners, is a monthly event, held at the Green House Hotel, Bournemouth. The lunch club is attended by lawyers, accountants and other business professionals intent on meeting and networking in an informal setting Hudson, guest speaker at the February event, is senior partner and joint head of business and commercial affairs at Harold G Walker Solicitors. He has been with the practice for 35 years, but his talk focussed on how his lifetime experiences had not only helped develop his business ethos, but also his own “four very unique selling points.” Hudson’s life can be described as untypical for someone who has become a successful commercial lawyer. A prolific goalscorer in hockey and local amateur football, Hudson also became a qualified coach in hockey and cricket. At school, he showed an aptitude for the sciences, but opted for a career in law. And for good measure, he plays guitar in a local blues/rock band. Hudson told his audience: “I’m different. I have an alternative approach. I do my very best for anyone I’m representing.” “I use a logical process and discipline of science to get through any problem I’m set on a day-by-day basis.” Hudson
