The day the Notice of Default was filed with the county it became a matter of public record and would have been picked up by the credit bureaus as such. The Notice of foreclosure is the first notice of foreclosure so it is already there.

credit was destroyed long before the noticeof default was filed, the foreclosure will be listed in 30 days from the date of last action. so they filed it before 21 nov. by jan 1 the foreclosure will be there and available for all to see. best bet is to be honest with prospective landlord and tell them the reason for the foreclosure, and the fact that hopefully you are back on your feet, seek the services of a good bankruptcy attorney if you feel the need to, the foreclosure will always be on record, and if the bank accepts a short sale you are reponsible for the difference. bankruptcy is the best bet to wipe out the foreclosure from the credit report. gl
