PV-Tech Newscast – October 14, 2011

We’ve got lots of manufacturing updates in this week’s PV-Tech Newscast, including reports on Evergreen Solar’s selling off of its manufacturing equipment and Jinko Solar’s resumption of cell production following last month’s fluoride leak fiasco. We take a look at Wacker Chemie, which has started ramping its new 15000MT polysilicon plant, and Qatar Solar Technologies’ US$1 billion, 8000MT solar-grade poly plant. Along with some bad news in the form of Arise Technologies’ insolvency are the encouraging reports of Suniva’s swelling capacity at its 170MW cell fab in Georgia and UK-based panel and glass manufacturer Romag’s 300% capacity hike.
