    @macpduff It’s never happened before so there is no jurisprudence for this problem. If I were the Governor of one of these states, I would simply wipe the slate clean and adjust the state budget to work with NO Federal funding. If that means breaking away from the Union, so be it… You have to do what’s in the best interest of the people over the long term and that may mean some short term pain from an adjustment.

    Another wonderful show. What an interesting topic,- how would State Bankruptcy be viewed under our Constitution??
    If States are soverign, would States declare bankruptcy like individual countries?
    Has a nation ever been unable to meet it’s financial obligations?
    What concerns me is that the State would -as said- be put under Federal Receivership. That would not be good. ? What happens then?
