Texas Tiger Rescue

3 Tigers rescued from Wild Animal Orphanage (WAO), a San Antonio, Texas sanctuary that went bankrupt in 2010. In 2003, Wild Animal Orphanage (WAO) took in 24 tigers that had been living at a New Jersey facility that was shut down by the state. After declaring bankruptcy in 2010, WAO contacted the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and other organizations for help in placing these tigers and the rest of their big cats at other sanctuaries. WAO struggled for over a year to find permanent homes for all of their cats because it is hard to place a big cat who will cost $10000 per year in food and vet care. Amazingly, an anonymous donor couple who had known these tigers as cubs fortuitously stepped in to fund the ongoing care of three lucky tigers who are coming to Big Cat Rescue. Your donation today helps us continue our work to end the trade in big cats and makes it possible for us to rescue others and provide permanent care to more than 100+ big cats who call Big Cat Rescue home. @BigCatRescue now i hate zoos, circuses and people that adopt endangered wild animals even more. why is that sh*t even legal? that’s worse then putting innocent people into prisons :/
anyway, i asked this in another video, but i guess you didn’t see the question, so i’m gonna ask it again here if you don’t mind, how many:
    -snow leopards
    are left in the wild?
i really wanna know, because the wellbeing of wild big cats means alot to me.

@Jedtumble It’s hard to say we didn’t sedate any of them to give them a physical, but I’d say the boys are probably around 400lbs and Amanda is probably 300lbs.
  11. BigCatRescue says:
@mkocja5a Exactly, all of our tigers are also what we call “generic tigers” they are not pure bred tigers with good genetics to be released in the wild. They also associate people with food and would probably become nuisance animals.

@auroriella Tony’s fate is still in the hands of the Louisiana Courts, we will always have a place for Tony but as it stands now Michael Sandlin the owners as a choice of where Tony goes if he has to give him up.
  13. BigCatRescue says:
@kyadavar Yes, all our tigers are bengal/siberian tigers, none of them are pure bred.
