I don’t know but if I were that attorney I would make sure I got my money from you up front!

It depends on your assets and debts and how complex they are.

For you, I wouldn’t get an attorney at all. Tell your credit card collectors that they’re not allowed to call you at home and you have every intention of paying off first the ones that are the nicest to you and ready to “deal”. Your life will return to normal, and you will eventually pay them off.

It’s in the neighborhood of $1000.00. But my question is if the creditors charged off the balances you owe then why file bankruptcy? It may seem overwhelming but $20K really isn’t that much. Especially since the Chapter 7 will follow you around for the next 10 years.

Just wait for the collection letters to come in. Then a whole new ball game opens up. You can negotiate and settle these debt and not hurt your credit near as much.

    Get familiar with FDCPA too.

    Cheers!!

Glen Lerner is the way to go, call 877-1500. Or, enough said, call Ed (Bernstein.) Just call any of the shysters, they’ll take care of it for you. You should be able to get it done for under 2K, I would hope.
