When Republicans Complain about SSI Insolvency, Government Inefficiency, etc., Do they Realize…?

When Republicans Complain about Government Inefficiency, Do they Realize Reagan’s Administration Paid $640 each for toilet seats in the Pentagon, that Reagan was PURPOSELY overspending and causing massive deficits to “starve the beast” and shrink the size of government, and that the GW Bush Administration was overcharged $212 MILLION by Halliburton, (former VP) Dick Cheney’s former employer?

Do Conservatives/ Republicans realize these things or do they just not care?

Probably not – it doesn’t really matter. All of this is just a figment of your imagination.
  2. Happy says:
The S&L collapse: Reagan’s “elimination of loopholes” in the tax code included the elimination of the “passive loss” provisions that subsidized rental housing. Because this was removed retroactively, it bankrupted many real estate developments made with this tax break as a premise. This with some other “deregulation” policies ultimately led to the largest political and financial scandal in U.S. history: The Savings and Loan crisis. The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around USD $150 billion, about $125 billion of which was consequently and directly subsidized by the U.S. government, which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990s.

add those costs and happy’s costs and any other costs you want to conjure up…..now compare to the trillions we just spent…….no comparison.

And democrats are spending out their ass too. Republicans and Democrats are essentially the same when it comes to the top people.

and obama has us in a 1.8 trillion deficit. 4 times what bush had us in, in only four months. point please.
  8. Liberalism is for Sucks says:
You mean Tip O’Neal’s congress had nothing to do with the $640 toilet seats?
  9. bendover says:
At least under Reagan, the economy was going up. Obama make family dates to NYC and Paris on the taxpayers’ dime while the economy continues to fall.
  10. DAR says:
We know and care. Unlike the Dems, we want to CHANGE that, not outdo it.

They don’t really give a crap, to be frankly honest.

The media is squalking about Obama taking his wife to a show in New York, Nixon used to send Air Force One to San Clemente to pick up Pat’s dog.

  12. Pablo says:
Republicans have used the SSI, Medicare and many other funds as a bank for general fund when they run short but the balance is returned interest free. The Conservatives say we can not sustain the entitlements and do not want to pay but they have no problem taking advantage of the poor. At least that is what I see in the people we have elected. The only real problem we have in this nation is controlling greed. Size of government is a lie.
