    Call your local county Bar Association and get a referral. You have to see a lawyer in the county where you live because the lawyer has to file the bankruptcy in the county seat. You did not even mention what city you live in. If I recommend a lawyer in Los Angeles and you live in Sacramento, how would that help you?

    You can find a referral at (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys). You can also search the California Bar Association website for Bankruptcy specialists.
